A Year From Today -
October 6, 2006
I talked with Rachel today to remind her that a year from today, she will be getting married. We have been spending our weekends looking at places, talking about flowers, caterers, cakes, photographers, etc. As if we didn't already have a busy life, this just added to it.

This weekend Rachel is out of town, but it doesn't mean I have the weekend off. My job this weekend will be to purchase some wedding magazines or planners for her to use. I also have to work tomorrow at one of my associations, but don't mind cause I get to make some extra money. In the morning I am performing a site inspection with two board members and in the afternoon, I am passing out pool keys, by their pool.

I had a pretty simple week this week except for a few meetings. Last night's meeting started at 4:30 p.m. and ended at 6:30 p.m. Next week I have a busy start of the week, but it should settle down the remainder of the week. The office staff up in Murrieta are all a little bummed cause we were told on Monday that the owners of the company have decided to close our office, after only 9 months. They did offer me a good deal however, which included a sizeable pay raise and two days a week working out of my home, so I am looking forward to that. I can work in my p.j.'s or jeans from my house and save money on driving to San Diego. So on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, I will drive to San Diego and on Tuesday and Thursdays, I will stay home (or at least that is how I am planning to do it for now). Days may have to change depending on what is going on with my associations at the time. Three of my four Mondays I have board meetings, so I will be leaving the office early on those days to get to my account locations, and Fridays are casual dress day, so that day I will be wearing jeans to work. I look at it this way, only have to dress up two days of the week - yahoo. I will be saving money on gas, and clothes (water, detergent, dryer-electricity expense), and can eat lunch at home too (saving even more money). It will be a different change, but I am sure I will be able to adapt.

I'm hoping to get my roof replaced this month and need to get it scheduled. This morning it rained a little here and was quite a surprise to say the least. At 6:30 p.m. it was already dark outside and we haven't even changed our clocks yet for daylight savings time (at the end of the month). It gives us a taste of what the weather will be like next year when Rachel gets married. We were thinking of doing the whole ceremony by the pool, but it may be just a bit too cool for that - plans are still evolving. Stay tuned -

I just read your story and wanted to let you know that I purchased the bridesmaid dresses for my wedding from ebay. The quality was great - better then expected, especially for the price paid. Hope this reduces the preparation stress a bit.

P.s. The sellers name was theukdressmaker.

Just wanted to thank you for the comments on my blog...I'm Gwennie's mom. You put your thoughts out there and find out how truly boring your are. It's kind of fun though isn't it? Actually Gwen set mine up for me...I'm terrible at this computer stuff.

Isaac is sitting on my lap and wants me to write his name. Now he's happy!
